Plumbing, pneumatics & electrical — how we pick and size them
This is the least decorative aisle we have and the one with the strictest numbers. Hose barbs, elbows, tees and quick connect couplers in 4mm to 16mm. Ball valves, check valves and needle valves in brass and stainless. Push-fit connectors, PTFE washers, O-rings by kit, and inline filters for water, air and fuel.
What sits next to what
The electrical half covers low voltage work: ring and spade terminals, butt splices, bootlace ferrules, heat shrink by the pack, cable glands, DIN rail clips, fuse holders and junction boxes. Every piece carries its rated size because a terminal one gauge wrong is a joint that will fail warm. If you are unsure which size is in front of you, measure it before you order — a caliper pays for itself on the first attempt.
Questions we get at the fittings shelf
Are the hose fittings push-fit or threaded?
Both are stocked, and the listing names which, along with the outside diameter of hose it accepts. Mixing the two is the usual cause of a weeping joint.
Do the wire terminals need a crimp tool?
The insulated ring and spade terminals do; screw-down blocks do not. A crimp tool sits in the fasteners aisle, one bay over.
What micron are the inline filters?
From 40 down to 5 micron depending on the model. The figure is in the listing because the wrong one either passes grit or starves the line.
