Room for everyone
A supply room is no use if you cannot get down the aisle.
Decisions we made on purpose
Text contrast is checked against the background it actually sits on, not against white. Every control is reachable with a keyboard and shows where the focus is. Headings are nested in order so a screen reader can skim the page as an outline. The stock up tag carries a text label, not just an image.
Sizes and reflow
Pages reflow down to a 320 pixel wide window and up to 200 percent text zoom without losing content or forcing sideways scrolling. Tables of measurements scroll independently rather than squeezing the page.
Images and photographs
Product photographs carry descriptive alternative text naming the item and its variant. Decorative images are marked as decorative so they are skipped rather than read aloud.
Motion
There is no autoplaying video, no carousel that moves on its own and no parallax. Where a transition exists it is short, and it is switched off when your system asks for reduced motion.
What we know is imperfect
Some of our older product photographs have text burned into the image, which a screen reader cannot reach. We are re-shooting those as the range is refreshed. Long specification lists are still long, and we have not yet found a tidier way to present them.
Tell us what blocked you
If something here stopped you, write to the front counter with the page and what happened. Access faults go to the top of the list — they are usually small fixes and they are always worth doing.
