How the room is stocked

A plain account of how the shelves are filled, in the order the work happens.

The shelf list starts with our own catalogue

Every item here is a PATIKIL item. We start from our product listing index, pull the whole of it, and keep what is genuinely ours. Anything carrying another maker's brand is dropped at that step, even when it looks adjacent to what we do.

Sizes and colours stay together

Where one design exists in eight colours and three diameters, it keeps one page with every option on it. Splitting a design across eleven pages makes a bigger site and a worse one. Where two items share a listing family but are genuinely different products, they get separate pages.

What gets dropped

Listings for items we no longer produce. Duplicate listings for the same pack. Anything sold by a third party at a marked-up price under our name. Gift cards and bundles that are not ours. Each of those is removed at build time, not hidden with a filter.

Prices and availability

Both are read from our product listing and carry the date they were read. We do not retype prices by hand and we do not estimate them. When a listing stops showing a price, the page says so rather than showing yesterday's number.

Aisles are our own filing

The aisle names on this site are ours, not a marketplace taxonomy. We file by the bench an item belongs to, which is how we think about the catalogue internally. An item occasionally fits two benches; it goes to the one where people look for it.

When we are wrong

A mis-filed item, a measurement that does not match the part, a photo showing the wrong colour — write to the front counter and we will fix the page. Corrections go in at the next build, usually within the week.
