What this bin holds

Our graphite rods help you stir molten metals in your casting projects. They are high-purity, high-strength graphite with good electrical conductivity.

This rod measures 200 mm (8 inches) long and 20 mm (0.8 inches) in diameter. It has a compressive strength of 75 MPa and a flexural strength of 35 MPa. We use graphite because it handles high temperatures and thermal shock well, resists corrosion, and keeps its mechanical strength.

Who takes it home

Metal casters and jewelers use these rods for stirring gold, silver and copper. To avoid burns, tie your graphite rod to a longer iron rod or wooden chopsticks, which helps with reach and keeps your hands farther from the heat.
