What this bin holds

This frosted white lampshade diffuser softens light, reducing glare from LED or CFL bulbs. It improves visual comfort and creates eye-friendly lighting in any room.

Our diffuser is made from 3mm thick, double-sided frosted white acrylic sheet with a 10mm center hole. This robust material is thicker than many diffusers, so it stands up to bulb heat and offers a long service life. It fits lampshade openings from 10 to 12 inches.

  • In my situation I purchased ceiling lights that I loved the design of, but they had a clear glass shade. They look great but the light they projected was quite harsh, to the point where I didn’t even want to turn lights on at night. These diffusers did a great job of improving the light cast by the ceiling lights My only problem was they didn’t quite fit most of the shades. I had 4 of these fixtures and only one of the diffusers fit perfectly. I had to file down the edge of the diffuser and the whole that the threaded tube fit through to install them. Took me about an hour, but the work was…

  • We have ordered two of the 11.5" diameter diffusers for a specific purpose that does not involve lamps. They have worked great for our needs. Our house has the old fashioned glass square light diffusers that hang below 2-3 bulb light fixtures... the frosted glass type with a wheat design. Those are not at all resistant to kids having pillow fights, or as it turns out, a tall teen stretching without realizing he was under the light fixture. As they can shatter and cause an extensive cleanup of the carpeting, bedding, couches, even Lego bins, we eventually realized we needed to stop replacing…

  • This lamp diffuser is a solid replacement for the glass one I had on a lamp. I still prefer glass, but this will not shatter and it was a fraction of the cost. It doesn't change the light much either.
