  • This floss is so pretty and feels very soft. I'd never worked with a polyester blend before and wasn't sure what to expect. The main difference I found between this and the common cotton floss that I normally use, is that this isn't as crisp. I think this would be great for cross stitch and some of your more basic embroidery stitches like running stitch, lazy daisy (detached chain), etc. and it's even okay for some French knots and small areas of satin stitch. It just doesn't have the definition or stiffness needed for more defined stitches like stem stitch, chain stitch, woven roses,…

  • This is a polyester blend not a cotton like most embroidery floss. I think this works fine for cross-stitch, but since I don't do fancy embroidery stitches I can't comment on the appropriateness of this floss for hand embroidery. This is priced about what DMC floss is priced at, and because of that, I think I would rather buy the DMC cotton, since I'm not sure how well this floss will wash or hold up in a project. It looks bright and shiny and doesn't feel thinner than the normal cotton, so I don't anticipate any problems, but it's an unknown for me. For the price, I would probably stick with…
