What this bin holds

Our round duct damper helps regulate airflow in your HVAC system. It lets you adjust the volume of air passing through a duct, or close it off completely.

We make this motorized volume damper from 201 stainless steel, so it holds up to corrosion and rust. This part is 100 mm (4 inches) at the interface, and the overall size is 150 x 1 mm (6 x 0.04 inches). The damper adjusts up to 90 degrees and takes an AC 24V power supply.

  • The damper itself is very well built. The silicone seal is nice when new, but I'm not sure how many actuations it will survive. The motor/actuator leaves a lot to be desired... The motor does not allow for proportional control. You cannot stop this damper mid-position and expect it to resume in the same direction (opening/closing) if you power it again. You also cannot time its movement from a known position since sometimes, the motor will drive hard in the wrong direction for a two to four seconds before switching direction. If the paddle ever gets jammed, it will just keep cycling forever…
