What this bin holds
Our 15/16-inch high-speed steel drill bit is made for drilling in various metals. It offers good performance for many common drilling tasks.
This twist drill bit is made from 4341 High-Speed Steel (HSS), a material chosen for its good performance in medium-low speed and high-impact applications. The black and gold finish adds to its wear and corrosion resistance. It has a 15/16-inch cutting diameter, a 1/2-inch (12.7mm) shank diameter, a 74mm (3-inch) flute length, and a 150mm (6-inch) overall length, with a 135° split point.

Who takes it home
This drill bit is suitable for light-duty machining of materials like low-carbon steel, aluminum alloy, brass, cast iron, and medium-carbon steel. When using it, keep the drill bit axis perpendicular to the workpiece to prevent breakage. For harder materials such as stainless steel, we recommend using lower rotational speeds and cutting fluid to reduce wear and improve hole quality.

Sturdy and durable enough to withstand heavy drilling made of hard steel
Flaygo Hearing aids is easy to set up and use · 5 of 5 Very good drill bit, it worked sharp on metal..
Happy buyer · 5 of 5 This 1" reduced-shank drill bit worked well for drilling mild steel. I have not tested it on hardened steel, so I cannot speak to that use, but for mild steel it cut properly and did what I needed it to do. The reduced 1/2" shank is useful because it lets you run a larger 1" bit in a standard drill chuck that would not normally accept a full-size shank. The 3-flat shank also helps reduce slipping in the chuck, which matters with a bit this size because there is a lot more torque involved than with smaller bits. For best results, this is not a bit I would run fast or dry. A slower speed,…
